A Poem: Love Addiction

Kiss Me at the red lights, kind of love.

That can’t get you close enough even though you are inside me, kind of love.

The most intense ecstasy running through my veins just from you being inside me, kind of love.

That ride or die, kind of love.

That cocaine pulsing through our bloodstream, kind of love.

That tattoo of our names on each other’s skin, kind of love.

The let’s travel to the stars, kind of love.

To the full moon parties of Thailand, kind of love.

That meet you at the airport, kind of love.

That one-way ticket to nowhere, kind of love.

The kind of love where you love them not even for all their scars but because of them.

Finding forgiveness for all our flaws, kind of love.

That I’ll love you through all the pain, kind of love.

That kiss me in the rain, kind of love.

That smack me on the ass and smile, kind of love.

That shake me to my core, kind of love.

That, I don’t even recognise myself, kind of love.

That lost in your eyes, kind of love.

That, I’m addicted to your touch, kind of love.

That, I love you all that much kind of love.

That I see you for your soul, kind of love.

That I love you for all that you are, kind of love.

The kind of love where you love them for all that they aren’t.

That I’ve missed you for a lifetime, kind of love.

Even though we just met.

The addiction to your smile, kind of love.

The run away and raise a wolf pack, kind of love.

That ayahuasca trip, kind of love.

That, you light up my soul, kind of love.

That fuck me in the steam room, kind of love.

On the rooftop, up against a tree, kind of love.

That In the back of the car, kind of love.

Can’t eat, can’t sleep, can’t breathe, kind of love.

That I love you and will never leave, kind of love.

That I love you even now you’ve left, kind of love.

The kind of love that transcends dimensions.

That is this even real, kind of love.

That kind of love.

That fuck me in my dreams kind of love.

Waking up, shaking, writhing and screaming, kind of love.

The kind of love that wakes you.

The kind of love that shakes you.

The kind of love that three thousand miles melts away, kind of love.

Wrapped up in gold shimmering light, kind of love.

That I’ve loved you for a thousand of years, kind of love.

That I’ll love you for a thousand more, kind of love.

The kind of love you leave, kind of love.

To give it space to breathe, kind of love.

Because it holds up the mirror and forces you to see, kind of love.

The kind of love that shows you who you are, kind of love.

For who you are and are not prepared to be, kind of love.

A love so unconditional, it never fades, kind of love.

That flickers like two flames, kind of love.

Burning for eternity, kind of love.

The kind of love that illuminates.

The kind of love that trauma bonds to,

The kind of love that addicts you.

The kind of love, you know is no good for you,

Toxic, yet you can’t get enough.

The kind of love you have to learn to leave. Unrequited.
